Do the Omakase. It is unbelievable. The chef or waiter will give you the dish and tell you a little background about each piece of sushi. The chef has prepared each dish with the perfect amount of wasabi and soy sauce so you really don’t need to add anymore. I am huge fan of the netflix Documentary “Jiro Dreams of Sushi.” If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend checking it out if you are a fan of Sushi or food in general. The way that Jiro prepares sushi is almost an art form. That is the same feeling that I got going to Sushi Kashiba. It is not surprising to me that Jiro and Shiro are good friends.
Over Labor Day weekend, I had the privilege to attend a ceremony here at the Outdoor Art Club. The venue features a delightful patio that was perfect for cocktail hour, a great dining hall for the reception, and a little area tucked in the back for the magical moments of when they say, "I do." The trees loomed over the newlywed couple and it was beautiful.
It was the best decision we could have made. We had a complex set of requirements, complex financing, and many questions as we narrowed in, offered on, and financed our dream home. The Bali Cottage is even more beautiful than it appears in the pictures. A true work of art with dappled light coming through the antique tike panels. At first I though it was a bit dark, but I quickly came to appreciate it very much. I generally endorse the other glowing reviews. The only thing I would disagree with is I didn't think the bugs were bad at all. It's the tropics! Yes, there were bugs around, but none bothered us. I don't think I got a bite all week, and some were quite pretty. We wholeheartedly recommend the place, especially for honeymooners.
We had a great stay in the Mission Garden. It was a wonderful hideaway for my fiance and I to spend some much needed time together. Not only did we enjoy the apartment (the art, the garden, the peace and quiet) but the neighborhood was great too! Our restaurant recommendations to people new to the city would be: El Metate--around the corner; Dosa--Valencia and 19th Street (Indian food);
Great location!! Friendly staff! Room with a view of coit tower! Walking distance to fishermans wharf, north beach, china town! Uber to china town $7. Parking onsite is $59 but when I mentioned I was a Hyatt member they gave it to me for $25. Worth it to not have to worry about finding parking, 2 hour parking, moving the car, and or getting parking tickets!
